Is impact fashion only a trend or can become a serious global movement?
We believe that Impact Fashion will develop and grow. Ethical and sustainable fashion has been gathering momentum globally in the past decade. Many companies have embraced the concept of sustainability and have implemented it in the business. These companies have understood that integrating social and environmental issues with business will yield long-term benefits to the company. More and more people prefer sustainability and social responsibility when buying products. Impact fashion products are better for people, animals, and the planet – and increasingly, consumers are asking for them.
In the fashion industry, various forms of sustainable and responsible fashion focus on minimizing the industry’s harm. We see Impact fashion as an opportunity to achieve our main goal: not only to limit harm but rather to maximize positive footprint (impact) of fashion on society. We do that by linking development, production and use of products and services with society challenges.
In other words – impact fashion products have a physical element and an impact element – maximized positive impact on the society.
Fashion impactisation (as an action) is an innovative methodological production method where milestones are creation/modification of fashion policies, strategies, processes, business models or creation/modification of individual fashion products.
There are so many ways that brands can make an impact – so many ways each one of us can make an impact, too. We believe that every person and every company can and should take steps to reduce their negative impact on society, nature, the environment etc.
